Thanks For Stopping By Sweet Kids Gifts & More!
Sweet Kids Gifts is the brainchild of Gordon Keath, CEO and Director of Project Challenge North Carolina. Trying to meet the needs of adjudicated youth in North Carolina in an environment where state and grant dollars are already stretched very thin, Gordon saw the need to create a constant funding stream to support his efforts to help young men and women become a part of their communities in a meaningful and positive way.
Project Challenge North Carolina Inc. is a private non-profit charitable organization that provides juvenile community service and restitution programming for adjudicated youth in thirty-three counties in North Carolina. With only an 11% recidivism rate in our youth, Project Challenge is a proven alternative programming option.
Our mission is to help youth become confident, productive members of their community through a curriculum based program that incorporates work serving the community as well as challenging recreational activities.
To truly understand what makes the youth who participate in Project Challenge successful, one has to understand that the philosophy of giving and philanthropy is something that in a lot of cases has to be learned. The majority of youth referred to Project Challenge enter the program with the perception that the only way a person gives is with money. In most cases, these children have no sense of how valuable their time, talents, and attention to others can be. People only learn the rewards of giving by giving. We are able to teach this valuable life lesson as we help them to fulfill their responsibility to the courts. Youth also participate in an outdoor adventure experience that gives the participants the opportunity to build their own community within their own peer group, reinforcing the underlying themes of building community and giving of self to others.
Your purchase of Sweet Kids gift products will support this wonderful program and enable Project Challenge North Carolina to reach more youth across the state. For more information about Project Challenge North Carolina, please visit their website at www.ProjectChallengeNC.org .
